Hand: Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead in all internal and external HR-related matters
  • Contributes to the development of organizational policies and procedures
  • Preparation, communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook
  • Responsible for planning, stewardship, and oversight of department budget
  • Help to establish, promote and share TC culture using creative methods
  • Responsible for maintaining a highly engaging culture, motivating employees, and fostering an environment with high levels of teamwork, accountability, communication, and vision for employees.
  • Works closely with management and employees to provide consultation and guidance to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  • Directs the HR staff's training, planning, and skill-building to prepare them for future growth for the company and individual career paths.
  • Collaborate with the Development department for all new hires and organization-wide compliance training
  • Collaborate with the Strategy department for organizational goals, objectives, and initiatives
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and innovation related to improving processes, addressing performance, creating action plans, and ensuring proper training and development of employees.
  • Oversee and collaborate on the hiring process and strategy from recruitment through onboarding
  • Handle conflict, investigate complaints and employee grievances for sound resolution
  • Assist in the coordination of employee development plans and performance improvement
  • Oversee employee benefits and compensation
  • Collaborate with Staff Care dept to provide a compliant and comprehensive program and resources
  • Create and distribute internal communications specific to HR-related matters, including company policies
  • Working knowledge of the organization's employee database
  • Produce and submit summary reports on general HR activity
  • Attend and participate in weekend services, special times of worship, leadership meetings, and large church-wide events
  • All other duties assigned

Head: Knowledge & Training

  • Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of relevant work experience
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired
  • At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb computer literacy with capability in related HR software
  • Must be a proven leader with sound conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations
  • Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices
  • Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure the highest levels of confidentiality with personnel data and reports.
