Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports To: Finance Director
Position Status: Permanent, Full-Time, After completion of 90-day Evaluation Period
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Senior Accountant position is a leadership role for the technical accounting process, responsible for the accurate recording of financial transactions, reconciliations, oversight of Accounts Payable invoicing and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Prepares financial statements and validates the accuracy of those statements; Charged with the responsibility of precise execution and administration of the ministry’s financial position in accordance with general accounting standards, and the core values of Transformation Church.

Hand: Responsibilities + Duties
- Provides technical accounting oversight
- Managerial oversight of 1-2 Accounts Payable Specialists; Review of invoice coding and vendor payment distribution
- Reconciliation of assigned asset and liability accounts including but not limited to cash accounts, payroll liabilities, A/R accounts, and clearing accounts
- Manage the accounting system software (Financial Edge) users and database
- Maintain Financial Edge chart of accounts and associated transaction codes
- Maintains daily bank cash flow reconciliation
- Maintain inter-company receivables
- Maintain temporarily restricted funds schedule
- Maintain depreciation schedules
- Identify reconciliation issues, resolve timely and accurately
- Prepare detailed journal entries and post entries to the GL
- Review, validate and post journal entries
- Review, validate and post subledger entries
- Manages and reviews trial balance
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements
- Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures
- Actively review and advise on accounting processes and improvements
- Additional duties as assigned
Head: Knowledge + Training
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA preferred
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience (non-profit experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Previous management experience
- Must possess strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, proficient in managing multiple tasks, flexible in accepting additional responsibilities
- Strong communication, problem solving, and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is strongly preferred
- Capable of learning other required software platforms used by the church
- Maintains confidentiality in all situations
- Willing to pursue continuous learning opportunities
This position will be onsite and is located at Transformation Towers in Tulsa, OK
