Primary Purpose of Position:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing the procurement process of Transformation Church’s supplies, equipment, and goods required for the essential operations of the organization. This position’s role is instrumental in ensuring efficiency in spending and stewardship of current and new vendor relationships. The Purchasing Manager will partner with all departments to ensure their purchasing needs are met while negotiating the most cost-effective solutions for the organization as a whole.

Hand: Responsibilities + Duties
- Develop, lead and execute scalable purchasing strategies that support the organization’s policies, operations, and calendar of events
- Create an SOP on procurement of supplies, AVL hardware, and the various vehicles used to manage our operations, as well as inventory management, to increase efficiencies across the organization while reducing operating costs.
- Conduct market and vendor research to ensure alignment with TC’s needs and mission.
- Very comfortable with contract and deal negotiation, as well as networking
- Review purchasing agreements with vendors and monitor/assess their ongoing performance in order to evaluate the business they are providing TC
- Create monthly, quarterly and annual data to identify/quantify purchasing needs and provide key metrics and trends
- Perform cost and scenario analysis for effective decision-making
- Partner with all departments to source purchasing/supply needs that support their projects and efforts (i.e. audio, visual equipment, event, and office supplies)
- Work closely with the mailroom staff as purchase orders are fulfilled and shipped to the facility
- Work closely with Finance team members in support of budget management and the recording of assets in the accounting system
- Natural curiosity to investigate and understand market trends and drivers and present recommendations to decision-makers and stakeholders
- Continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities for improvement within processes and expense management
- Creation/administration of dashboards and graphs for presentations to department managers and executive team
- Plan, organize, and execute ad-hoc tasks and projects

Head: Knowledge + Training
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field
- Prefer 5+ years of progressive experience managing procurement, supply chain, logistics, inventory, or other related functions
- Advanced analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of leading others
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, proficient in managing multiple tasks, flexible in accepting additional responsibilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously
- Adept in exercising discretion and setting priorities
- Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, time management, and customer service skills
- Experience managing vendor databases
- Capable of learning other required software platforms utilized by the church
- Maintains confidentiality in all situations
- Ability to resolve conflict in a calming manner
